The Charles Bukowski Poem That Made Me Say “F*ck It” To My Entire Marketing Strategy
There’s more to being a writer than money

I’ve been in somewhat of a creative rut for the past six months or so. I’ve had a lot on in my personal life, and it has affected my creativity. I’ve been trying to take my career to the next level, and so have tried to refine a marketing strategy.
Something along the lines of:
- Publish on Medium 2x per week
- Pull trending ideas from social media and write corresponding blogs
- Continuously check Google Trends and Google Keywords for new blog ideas
- Create a publication on Medium
- Start utilizing my mailing list by sending a weekly newsletter
- Create a freebie to attract new subscribers
- Post on LinkedIn twice per month
- Write ebooks to publish on Amazon and my website
The usual.
But there was a big issue with this marketing strategy.
For lack of better words, it’s fucking boring.
