Body weight regulation is a highly complex and nuanced system. 3,500 kcals per pound of body fat is a huge oversimplification. In my case, I probably didn’t gain that much weight because my body is v effective at utilizing energy and mobilizing fat stores. Partly due to % of muscle mass to fat ratio, partly due to activity level, partly due to metabolic function.
